It is proposed to address the research of project processes involved in the design of objects, involving the use of biomaterials and biotechnology as potential tools for their development, within sustainability parameters, with a reduction in socio-environmental impact.

 

Starting from the idea that design must find a way to develop in a sustainable way, and that for this it is essential to adopt an interdisciplinary perspective through bioconception, it is proposed to work on two fundamental axes:

• Research and development of biomaterials in relation to the object of study.

• Research and development of biotechnologies relevant to the project.

 

A propitious and disruptive space is proposed to reflect on the specific discipline, redefining the limits and prevailing models with which it is currently designed. We urge to question the design of objects and its current production system from the bio-conception, promoting the understanding of the territory from its political, economic, social and cultural juncture.

 

We conjecture that bio-conception, from the study of biomaterials and biotechnologies, is a possible collaborative solution for the socio-environmental problems of the current object production system.
